Twila Grosse

Twila Grosse was born and raised in the historic African Nova Scotian Community of Cherry Brook. Twila holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Mount Saint Vincent University, and a certificate in Budgeting and Forecasting.


In February 2020, she retired after 36 years at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, where she was employed as a Budget Analyst and Business Planning and Budgeting Manager.


Twila was first elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly for Preston in the 2023 provincial by-election and then re-elected in November 2024 in the provincial general election.

Twila is the recipient of numerous awards and commendations, including: the King Charles III Coronation Medal, Queens Platinum and Diamond Jubilee Medals; 35-Year Service Award from the Halifax International Airport Authority; Government of Canada International Year of Volunteers Award; Canada 125 Award;  and the National Public Service Community Service Award. Twila was appointed to the Black Cultural Society’s – Rev. Dr. W.P. Oliver Wall of Honor in 2006.

Twila’s motto in life is simply, “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
